SMASH

Starring Jaime Cepero, Megan Hilty, Christian Borle, Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee, Anjelica Huston, and Jack Davenport (from left to right)

Broadway musical theater lovers watch out! Smash is going to be a hit!

I gasped at first scene where Karen (American Idol 5th season runner up Katharine McPhee) singing "Over the rainbow" and totally immersed into the series when finish watching the pilot episode. This is so thrilled for able to watch a Broadway show every week, dance and songs playing, haven't mention its well-written story.

The story is about playwright Julia (Debra Messing) and Tom (Christian Borle) prepping to write for a new Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn, joined by Eileen (Anjelica Huston) the producer who desperately want the production to play forward, who later hired the talented but difficult choreography director Derek (Jack Davenport), and the battle for the Marilyn musical between Karen, head-to-head with Ivy (Megan Hilty) who have decade of experience in Broadway.

Dubbed "Glee for adults", a lot of viewer might compare this new musical series with Glee. In fact, the series are different from Glee in the mean of the music played in Smash mostly are originally composed, specifically made for the series. The emotional closer of pilot episode "let me be your star" is definitely a show-stopper!

Most exciting, there is one original song coming out in each episode. It is said that the song composers penned 15-17 original songs for Smash. (This made the musical drama seems so promising)

Who will going to play Marilyn Monroe and laugh till the end?

I was so worried for Desperate Housewives going to an end. Smash bring me such a relieve.

Behind the movie: Tony Award winner director Michael Mayer, original songs composer Tony Award and Grammy Award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, pilot episode written by playwright and screenwriter Theresa Rebeck, executive producer Steven Spielberg

Next episode star: Nick Jonas singing "Haven't met you yet"

Highly anticipated & Absolutely unmissable!
